Fellow Computer Systems members:
The PIPSC HRM CS Sub-group will be participating in the Halifax and Dartmouth Labour Day rally, parade and picnic, Monday September 3rd.
Keeping with tradition, the annual Labour Day Parade celebrates the strength and solidarity of workers.
We will march with other members of organized labour in Halifax. The parade greatly boosts the visibility of organized labour yet is fairly short, only from Victoria Park to the Commons. Wear your CS or PIPSC gear! We have a large CS banner and some high visibility vests. Wear a hat for the sun and bring some water to drink.
The picnic is after the parade on the Halifax Commons Triangle. It is family oriented with face painting, entertainment, a free BBQ (with vegetarian options), and some organized labour speeches. Details on the events are as follows:
10:30 am Rally at Victoria Park (corner of South Park and Spring Garden in Halifax).
11:00 am March to the South Commons Triangle (next to the Pavilion).
12:00 noon free BBQ and picnic with entertainment and speeches.
