Collective Bargaining

Building on the tremendous solidarity established in the last round of negotiations, our 16 Treasury Board groups are busy preparing for a new round of bargaining that is scheduled to begin in the coming months. 

All collective agreements are set to expire in 2018, even those that have not yet been signed (OSFI, CFIA-VM, CFIA-IN and NRC-RO/RCO), or even reached (CFIA-S&A). The Presidents and Bargaining Officers met on June 28 to develop a national strategy that will allow PIPSC to once more present a united front and advance our members’ demands.

Your NUREG Bargaining team met with employer on August 8, 2017. Two items were discussed; pay and Scientific Integrity. We have had a productive meeting with CNSC. We hope to have a tentative deal soon. In solidarity your bargaining team.

Voting on our tentative agreement ended on Friday July 28 at 15:30. The majority of the PIPSC NAV CANADA Group members have voted in favor of accepting the tentative agreement.
25 July 2017
NR members have ratified the Tentative Agreement. The next steps, currently underway, will require the employer to calculate the new pay rates and translate the new agreement prior to signing by both parties. This can hopefully be completed by the end of August.

As reported before, your bargaining team signed a tentative agreement on July 5, 2017 to complete this round of collective bargaining. Electronic voting on the tentative agreement will take place from July 24, 2017 to July 28, 2017 at 3:30 pm (EST).

As bargaining season is upon us we are Better Together. Building on our success with Work Force Adjustment and our excellent progress with the Employee Wellness Support Program, representatives from the eighteen (18) groups* under the Treasury Board have joined forces to negotiate common issues at a central bargaining table.

Bargaining teams are being convened, member surveys are being conducted, and priorities are emerging, both for individual Groups and PIPSC overall. In short, all Groups should be in a position to begin bargaining by the end of the year.
