Minutes of the April 26, 2017 meeting held at Restaurant La Piazetta
Present: Pierre Girard, Réjean Michaud, Denis Arsenault, Denis Caissy, Daniel Brouillette, Alain Tremblay.
Absent: Pierre-Claver Bigirindavyl, Michel Bédard.
Guest: Olivier Finette
1) all to order at 5:33 p.m., quorum established.
2) Agenda: moved by Denis Caissy, seconded by Denis Arsenault. Carried.
3) Réjean mentioned that the Regional Council in May will be held in Drummondville and the Branch Presidents meeting at the beginning of June at L’Estrimont at the same time as an OHS training and the Steward Council in September.
4) Adoption of the of April 26, 2017 minutes, moved by Alain Tremblay and seconded by Denis Arsenault. Carried.
5) The follow-up items of the last minutes are all on the Agenda.
6) Rejean and Daniel told us about the budget and spending.
7) For our spring activity, Rachid Abdul may come and Alain will confirm it. It will be a cocktail dinner at Baie de Beauport. Réjean will request Lunch & Learn funding.
8) For our AGM, 3 sites are proposed (Centre Videotron, Montmorency, Naval Academy). Dates: 9-12 October. Attendance; 80 to 100 people. Guest Speakers would be Debi Daviau, Steeve Hindel, other members of the Board, Valerie Charette, a person from ServicePlus, a person from FTQ to tell us about union history in Quebec, a PSAC representative. The new Chair of the Youth Committee, Denis Caissy, will also give a talk. (The youth committee is active in Quebec but Atlantic is on the move. They have an operational budget).
For the elections, Réjean will approach the groups and new delegates for nominations.
9) The Youth Committee invited the Branch Executive to the Happy Hour on June 8th at the Atelier de Québec. The Branch will pay for a drink to those attending (up to 2).
10) The next meeting is scheduled on June 14th (north)
