Regional Steward Councils Fall 2023

 

Introduction

The Professional Recognition and Qualifications Committee is a standing committee of the Board. 

The mandate of the PRQC is to support PIPSC aims and objectives as articulated in Bylaw 2.2, “The Institute shall seek to reinforce the professional effectiveness of its members and to improve the application of professional standards and the availability of appropriate opportunities for professional development”.

 

Vision:

To empower PIPSC members to seek the recognition and support required to provide Professional services to Canadians.

PRQC Draft Workplan 2023/2024

  • The PRQC will focus on 3 main goals in 2023/24
  1. Interact/communicate with the Board and the Advisory Council (AC) 
  2. Interact/support Bargaining Groups and Consultation Teams
  3. Interact with Members and Stewards

 

Objectives of the 3 main goals:

  1.  Interact/communicate with the Board and the AC
    1. Provide regular reports
    2. Request to make a presentation with the Board and the AC
  2. Interact/support Bargaining Groups and Consultation Teams, as requested
    1. Provide support to Bargaining Groups regarding language related to Professional Recognition and Qualifications.  The PRQC will investigate best approaches to achieve better recognition and support for Professionals.
    2. Seek feedback from Consultation Teams to discuss challenges and opportunities in relation to Professional Recognition and Qualifications
  3. Interact with Members and Stewards
    1. Improve visibility of the PRQC and prepare communication material to empower members to promote their Professional Standards and Status.
    2. Review the opportunity to improve the Performance Review process.  Work with the National Training Committee Chair
