Salary Increases

Hello,
As you’re aware, during the negotiations of your current collective agreement (PDF), the University and your union agreed to implement a new salary structure with 12 steps per grade, effective May 1, 2018.
The new salary structure will be implemented in two phases:
- On April 30, 2018, a new salary structure with 12 steps per grade will be created using the maximum salaries established on January 1, 2018. There will be a 2% difference between each step (see page 119 of the collective agreement).
This new salary structure will be used to integrate employees into the salary scale at or immediately above the salary in effect on April 30, 2018.
- On May 1, 2018, an economic increase of 1.7% will be applied to the new salary structure (see page 119 of the collective agreement).
Salaries will then be adjusted in accordance with articles 44.15 and 44.16 of the collective agreement and, if necessary, a step movement will be granted in accordance with article 44.17 (see pages 109 and 110 of the collective agreement).
In early May, you will receive a salary statement indicating your new step, the increase granted and your new annual salary effective May 1, 2018.
