Our new Bargaining Team held our first meeting in Ottawa from Tuesday November 13 to Thursday November 15, 2018, and had a busy three days establishing the foundation for the upcoming negotiations with the Employer. The team received training on the bargaining process, legal framework and negotiation methods.

On October 29th the Federal Government announced proactive pay equity legislation which would require federally regulated workplaces to examine their compensation practices and ensure that women and men receive equal pay for equal work.

Many members replied with their Professional Association information, where they pay annual membership fees or professional dues to maintain their professional status. And the information regarding whether your employer reimburses you or not, was great insight for our Bargaining Team.

We received the results of the ratification vote, the vote was to accept the new Collective Agreement. On behalf of the bargaining team I would like to thank you all for your support and patience during the process.

The 50 Victoria St. SP Sub-Group 2018 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and elections will be held on Tuesday, December 4th, 2018. The event will take place from 12:00 pm. to 1:00 p.m. at Place du Portage Phase I, room 24D. A lunch will be served.

Following the NR Bargaining Conference on September 21, the NR Bargaining Team met October 16 to 18, to review your survey feedback, as well as past priorities and current issues. This analysis has been developed into our initial bargaining priorities.
