The federal pay equity process requires a Pay Equity Plan to be developed and posted by September 2024. The Pay Equity Committee (PEC) has not met with the employer to date. We are disappointed by the pay equity progress with the Senate of Canada. Unfortunately, the employer has submitted a request for multiple plans to the Canadian Human Rights Commission (CHRC) and a decision has not been rendered. PIPSC is ready to meet and has reached out several times to the employer to start the process while waiting for a decision from the CHRC, but unfortunately there has been no progress.
