Your Bargaining Team is pleased to announce that a Tentative Agreement was signed with the Employer on March 3, 2023, completing this round of negotiations. The new agreement will cover a term of two years, expiring June 20, 2024. A shorter agreement allows us to respond to a fluctuating economic landscape and to better advocate for the interests of members.

The economic increases are comprised of a general economic increase for each year, an increase to the top of the salary range for all levels and a lumpsum.

June 19, 2022 (retroactive) salary increase: 3%

March 31, 2023 salary range increase: 3.5%

June 19, 2023 salary increase: 2.5%

Lumpsum payment on implementation: $2000/per employee

This will be a total of 9% increase to base salary as of June 19, 2023 for members. Those members who are not at the top of their salary range will also see an adjustment of 3.5% applied as of March 31, 2023 as all anniversary dates will be adjusted to March 31. The employer and the union will also engage in a joint working group to further study the pay bands over the next 12 months to ensure that they are comparable and appropriate to the work members are doing.

Other highlights include a $500 benefit to be paid on implementation to cover home office supplies. This will be paid to all employees every 3 years. All short-term staffing opportunities 24 months and less will be offered and staffed through an internal staffing process to support and encourage internal talent and opportunity. We also secured the transition of the volunteer day to an addition personal day, including some additional flexibility to the use of family-related responsibilities and bereavement leave.

The Tentative Agreement will be summarized in detail shortly for your review in preparation for ratification. Ratification will be held virtually on March 20th to provide for an expedited implementation process. The employer has agreed to provide all members the time required for the ratification meeting as a Q&A session will be held prior to hosting the ratification vote. Mark your calendars for March 20th, from 12pm – 2pm.

Please stay tuned for the summarized ratification package coming to you shortly!

In Solidarity,

Your Bargaining Team
