The CFIA VM, IN and S&A Groups are pleased to announce that we’ve finished bargaining and reached tentative agreements with the CFIA to renew the collective agreements.
Like the other PIPSC groups in the federal public administration, we secured a base wage increase of 7% over a 4-year contract plus additional wage adjustments specific to your occupational group.
Next week each one of your bargaining teams will contact you directly with the specifics of your deal and the next steps – including voting to accept the new contract.
All of the new agreements contain important improvements to issues such as:
- expanded parental benefits
- leave for those affected by domestic violence
- better protection from harassment in the workplace
- a more inclusive definition of family for other leave benefits
While this round of bargaining has been historic for many reasons, we would like to thank each one of you for your ongoing work as professionals playing an active part in upgrading critical systems and keeping our food secure, healthy and safe to eat.
