CANMET RE - Sub Group Executive Meeting Minutes
Time: Wednesday March 11, 2020; 17:30 Hrs
Venue: 824 King Street West, Hamilton, ON
Attendees: Jidong Kang, Amjad Javaid and Kumar Sadayappan
· The meeting was called by the president J. Kang to discuss the RE Group AGM and plan for the sub-group AGM.
o The group AGM is in June 2020 in Ottawa. The sub-group AGM will be held after that. June 23 or June 25 were identified as possible dates.
o ACTION ITEM: Kumar to check meeting room availability at MIP and finalize.
· Discussion on the formation of a research advisory team to help management to identify new research areas and recruitment of scientific/technical staff.
o This team will consist of two SE-RES stewards in CMAT; other members include senior RES and possibly the group leaders.
o ACTIOM ITEM: Jidong to discuss with possible team members and arrange a meeting date.
· Gifts for Ping-Pong tournament at CMAT in memory of Dr. Jason Lo in April/May 2020.
o ACTION ITEM: Kumar to coordinate with the organizer, Mr. Len Pizzi
