Annual General Meeting – Members Only

- Annual General Meeting: 5:30 – 6:00 pm
- Speakers Presentations: 6:00 – 7:00 pm
We will have Stewards and Executive members of the SP Sub-Group to speak to the issues that concern you such as hybrid work, our Collective Agreement, and answer any questions that you may have.
Registration of your attendance with your membership number is required by Friday, November 10th, 2023 at spvansubgroup@gmail.com. Confirmation of your registration will be sent to you. You can check your membership number at: http://www.pipsc.ca/member-tools/find-your-membership-number.
In lieu of a dinner meeting, the first 30 members to respond and participate in the AGM on November 15th will be sent a pair of Cineplex movie tickets, to view a movie of your choice at a later date.
Elections for the Vancouver SP Sub-Group Executive will be held at the AGM. Up to three (3) positions are available and the term of office is for 2 years. Being on the Executive is a great way to contribute to professional science in Canada and a personal development opportunity. Nominations close at the meeting. If you expect to be absent, please e-mail your nomination form (attached) to Rob MacDonald, Chair, Elections Committee at robertmacdonald@pipsc.ca or send to the PIPSC Regional Office by Friday, November 10th, 2023.
Anyone wishing to propose changes to the Vancouver SP Sub-Group’s Constitution and By-Laws (e.g., the election procedures) are welcome to do so. The Constitution and By-Laws outline the requirements that need to be met with respect to any proposed changes to the same. Any proposed changes to the Constitution and By-Laws need to meet with the approval of the PIPSC By-Laws Committee and approval of the PIPSC Board of Directors.

The SP Group includes members with the following classification: Actuary (AC), Agriculture (AG), Biologist (BI), Chemist (CH), Forester (FO), Meteorologist (MT), Physical Scientist (PC), Scientific Regulation (SG) and Patent Examination (PAT).
For this AGM there are 9 positions available on the Vancouver SP Sub-Group Executive. The term of office is for two (2) years.
