The Sunnybrook Radiation Therapy (SUN-RT) Group is holding its General Meeting and Elections on Thursday June 29, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, in the Dembo Room.
I’d like to invite you to nominate yourself for election to the SUN-RT Group executive.
Our strength is in our members’ engagement. By taking a leadership role in our union community, you will steer PIPSC toward the goals of improving our members’ lives and making progress on issues that matter most to us and the broader labour movement in Canada.
We are accepting nominations for the following positions:
- President
- Vice-President
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Members-at-large
Interested parties can be nominated on the floor of the meeting or in advance by sending an email to elections_committee@pipsc.ca with the subject "SUN-RT 2023 elections".
ELIGIBILITY
The nominee must be a member of the SUN-RT Group and a member in good standing with PIPSC.
HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR NAME FOR NOMINATION
Send an email to elections_committee@pipsc.ca with "SUN-RT 2023 Elections" for the subject. The nominee must indicate a willingness to serve if elected. Nominations can also be made in person during the meeting
As a member of the group executive, your role is to:
- Further the professional interests of the members
- Protect the status and standards of our profession
- Represent the views of the members on matters affecting them
- Ensure that the interests of the Group are represented in all proceedings of the employer and of the union
- Appoint the PIPSC SUN-RT Bargaining Team
This is a voluntary role, and you will be eligible for union leave to participate in all union activities. The Group Executive will meet as frequently as is required, but at least twice a year.
