Leave Time Reminder and CSA Consultation Team 2024 Annual Report

Read recent updates from your Canadian Space Agency (CSA) Consultation Team.

Your Canadian Space Agency (CSA) Consultation Team would like to share two updates:

  1. A reminder that leave time expires on March 31
  2. A copy of our 2024 annual report summarizing your union delegates’ work this past year

Leave time

Your collective agreement provides paid time off that is renewed each year and is non-transferable, which means it cannot be carried over into the next year.

This leave time includes:

  • Personal leave for a total of 15 hours per year. These hours can be taken in blocks of 7.5 hours or 3.75 hours, depending on the need
  • Leave for family obligations for a total of 37.5 hours per year. These hours can be used for:
  • family member appointments
  • service closures (school and daycare)
  • care of a family member
  • adoption
  • school activities
  • visiting a family member who has a terminal illness and is at the end of life

15 of the 37.5 hours may be used to attend an appointment with a legal advisor or paralegal for non-employment matters or with a financial advisor or other type of professional representative

If possible, it is important to notify your supervisor before taking time off.
