Ever wonder what scientists working for the government do? Who are the people behind the research that informs government policies on important matters such as environment and climate change? PIPSC Women in Science, in collaboration with Westcoast Women in Engineering, Science and Technology (WWEST) are inviting high school teachers and students to participate in a webinar on STEM in the Public Sector. BC-based scientist Taylor Groenewoud will talk about what it is like being a scientist working for the public service, and why science needs more diversity.
Taylor does research to help reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions from ships, planes and trains, and helps bring this research into government policy. Students will get to learn more about doing science and research in the public service and ask Taylor questions about her work and career journey.
