On May 23, 2024, a landmark decision was made that established a new precedent regarding the rights of former incumbents to file classification grievances for their previous positions. The CFIA has begun implementing this decision by reaching out to former incumbents of the following roles:
- Supervisory Veterinarian
- Veterinary Program Officer/Evaluator/Analyst
- Veterinary Program Specialist/Advisor/Coordinator
If you have received such a notification, it is critical you forward it to compensation@pipsc.ca as soon as possible. We are currently assessing our options to safeguard the rights of former incumbents and may need to initiate grievance filings before the mid-September deadline.
