  1. Opening Remarks
    At 11:15 a.m., the Chairman welcomed everyone and hoped everyone has had a good summer.
     
  2. Approval of the agenda
    The agenda was approved as presented.
     
  3. Approval of the minutes of June 18, 2024
    The minutes are approved as is.
     
  4. Action arising from the minutes
    Point 10c - Death benefit. We approached the Institute and they referred us to the NAFR. We would need statistics (amounts paid, life expectancy and the price of a service today) and the year of the last increase to support our request to NAFR.

    Action (all): Search for information.
     
  5. Business of the Quebec City Chapter
    1. 2024 AGM
      The date, restaurant, guests and speaker have all been confirmed. The notice of meeting is ready.

      Action (Guy): Send notice to the Institute on October 9 and notify guests.

      Action (Réjean): Bringing the region’s projector
       
    2. Christmas dinner with FSNA (submissions)
      Everything is ready for November 21 at Sagamité.

      Action (Yvon): Request $500 from the National RMG
       
  6. National Retired Members Guild
    1. National RMG meeting
      VP Sean O'Reilly attended the meeting. We discussed the prioritization of the 56 motions for the Institute's AGM and the notion of a triennial convention. The 2024 budget has been presented and the 2025 budget should be available soon.

 

  1. Federal Superannuates National Association
    1. Activity report
      The Quebec City chapter will have a booth at the Salon FADOQ de Québec from October 18 to 20, 2024 at the Centre des foires de Québec. The section is organizing a dinner to thank its volunteers at the end of October 2024 at Le Parlementaire.
       
  2. The Institute
    1. 2024 AGM in Toronto
      There is talk of a $17.50/month increase in dues. Unfortunately, the 2025 budget is not yet available to justify the increase.

 

  1. Québec Region
    1. Regional Council
      The new Executive Director, Tania Lafrenière, was on hand to answer delegates' questions. Speaker Denis Carignan gave a presentation on “letting go”. There was also a workshop on mobilization.
       
  2. Miscellaneous
    1. PIPSC National Elections
      The bios are available. PIPSC is currently testing the new electronic voting system. The complaint in the CP group election process was found to be well founded, the results annulled and new elections held.
       
    2. CP Group retired members’ complaints
  3. Roundtable
    Guy - The Chapter organized a baseball evening with the Capitales de Québec. The event was a success, with 70 participants. The Chapter AGM will take place on November 20 2024. Location TBA.

    Denis - FSNA's fall SAGE magazine features a very good article on the benefits of Johnson-MEDOC travel insurance.
