Dear Retired Members,
I hope this notice finds you all well and safe during this time of self-isolation and limited activity.
Due to the Coronavirus (COVID – 19) the Retired Members Guild Executive have not been able to have an in person meeting since our January 2020 meeting. The PIPSC National Office has been closed, with staff working from home. The PIPSC National Office until further notice is closed until the end of June 30, 2020.
The RMG Executive had a Zoom Conference Call on April 15, 2020. The conference call worked well and we were able to discuss issues and items that impacted the RMG during the COVID – 19 shut down.
The executive moved and carried a motion not to proceed with the Election of RMG Executive officers for 2020. The rationale for not having elections this year was determined by the RMG Executive because we did not have the time or resources to run the election in a timely manner with the PIPSC National Office being closed until after June 30, 2020 or longer if COVID restrictions were not rescinded by the end of June.
Postponing the RMG Elections is a contravention of the RMG By-laws so the RMG Executive was required to submit a formal request to the Office of President Debi Daviau for her approval.
On May 8, 2020 our request to postpone our 2020 RMG Elections to 2021, was approved, in writing by President Debi Daviau.
The following RMG Executive Members Elections to be held in 2021, for a three year term, as per the RMG by-laws number 8 Elections. The following Regions Elections will be held in 2021.

1 Ontario
1 BC/Yukon
Hopefully we will soon be able to resume the business of the Retired Members Guild and the restrictions of this pandemic will be over.
