The Northern New Brunswick Branch invites its members and their spouses and children to join us for a hike of the Middle Landing trails. The activity will take place on Sunday, September 15. Arrive at the meeting point, Middle Landing Bridge, by 1:15 pm (prior to the start of the hike around 1:30 pm). For those coming from Bathurst or the north-western region of New Brunswick, take Hwy 430 (Big River Road), and then turn left on Hwy 360 and drive until you reach the Middle Landing Bridge. If you are coming from Miramichi or the surrounding area, take Hwy 360 to the Middle Landing Bridge meeting point.
You can opt for one of two hikes:
- Option 1: 1.8 km return walk from the Middle Landing Bridge to the Rope Bridge
- Option 2: 7 km loop around Gordon Meadow Brook starting at the Middle Landing Bridge
During the hike, interpreters will be on hand to talk about the local plant and animal life. Upon your return, you will be treated to campfire, bannock and locally gathered herbal tea (wintergreen, root, etc.). It’s important to dress properly for the hike and to bring mosquito repellent with you. To find out more about the hiking, see the Adventures Nepisiguit Adventures website: www.nepisiguitadventures.com/index
RSVP: Please reserve by indicating your preferred route no later than September 8, 2019 so that we can reserve a sufficient number of guides for the two hikes.
