Welcome:
The meeting was held at Lee Garden Seafood Restaurant, 6401 Kingsway, Burnaby. The meeting was called to order at 18:08 by Colin McBride, Acting President Vancouver CRA Branch.
Approval of Agenda:
Colin McBride stated that the AGM Agenda was sent electronically to the Branch AGM attendees and paper copies were provided on each table. Motion to approve the agenda. Moved by Greg Day. Seconded by Danielle Puttonen. Carried.
Adoption of the Minutes from the 2023 AGM:
Colin McBride stated that the minutes from the 2023 AGM were sent electronically to the Branch AGM attendees and paper copies were provided on each table. Colin McBride asked that we approve the 2023 minutes. Moved by Greg Day. Seconded by Alketa Katro. Carried.
President’s Report – Colin McBride:
Introduction of the current Branch Executive. Acknowledged Mohan Grewal’s contribution to the union including being Branch President.
Annual Financial Report, by Treasurer Gurpreet Khera:
The financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2023 were tabled. These financial statements and budget were provided on each table. Main source of funding is from the annual PIPSC allocation. Most of the Branch spending is to fund the AGM dinner and Winter Social. Gurpreet Khera asked for someone to move to adopt the financial statements. Moved by Tanya Fleck. Seconded by Simon Chiu. Carried.
The 2024 budget was also presented by Gurpreet Khera who explained that funds are allocated for the AGM. Gurpreet Khera asked for someone to move to adopt the 2024 budget. Moved by Mauro Defeudis. Seconded by Greg Day. Carried.
Interim Elections for Branch Positions:
President position was open as Colin McBride wishes to vacate. Vice-President position was vacant. Four Member-at-Large positions were also available.
- President
Tom Kirkpatrick asked Mauro Defeudis if he wished to put his name forward as President. Mauro Defeudis confirmed his interest in filling in that role. Mauro Defeudis was elected as President by acclamation. Term ending 2027.
- Vice-President
Mauro Defeudis asked Tom Kirkpatrick if he wished to put his name forward to continue as vice president. Tom Kirkpatrick confirmed his interest in filling in that role. Tom Kirkpatrick was elected as Vice-President by acclamation. Term ending 2027.
- Four Members-at-Large. Term ending 2027.
Nominations were taken for Member-at-Large positions:

Spoke about the return to work - 3 days a week coming up in September 2024. No consultation with Unions regarding this change.
