PIPSC Volleyball Tournament
The PIPSC National Capital Region (NCR) Young Professional Network (YPN) is pleased to invite members, family members (18 yrs. of age or above) to participate in a volleyball tournament on July 5, 2025 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Details are as follows:
Address: 813 Shefford Rd, Gloucester, ON K1J 8H9 – Sand Courts
Game time: Volleyball games start at 9:30 am.
Prize: Prizes for first place winners plus 20 draw prizes.
Registration: The event is limited to the randomly selected 500 registrations.
You will receive a confirmation email on June 24, 2025 advising if you have been selected. Please only attend the event if you are selected to attend and you received a confirmation email. You must register yourself AND your partner(s) (if you want to play in a team). You can register as an individual or a team. A team has up to 6 players.
For registration, you are required to indicate your experience level: Advanced, Intermediate, or Beginner. Please see the descriptions below:
Skill Level:
1. Advanced (“A”): They know all the skills extremely well. The players can run combination plays in a basic way if passes are good. That includes slides, tandems, x's, crosses, etc.
Understands rotational sequence, offensive concepts (i.e., 5-1, 6-2, etc.) and defensive positions and can apply them in competition.
Game and player strategies are well understood (i.e., running offensive plays, identifying opponent weaknesses, reading opponents plays during volley, etc.) but may still be in refinement.
2. Intermediate (“BB”): May have played high school volleyball.
Understands rotational sequence, and defensive positions but may be working to solidify those skills.
Knows the footwork of and how to approach hitting effectively.
Solid knowledge of the game and rules.
3. Beginner (“B”): Knows the basics of volleyball, but is just beginning to bump, set, and spike. Sometimes getting it over the net is an accomplishment.
