  • Review of the Executive positions. At the Branch AGM the terms for Executive positions were changed from two to three years.
  • Issue: a term employee applied to staffing action (anticipatory) to create PC-02 and PC-03 pools, The Application was rejected because he/she was not Indigenous or a person with disabilities. The individual asked for union advice. Later, he received letter from HR saying they made an error, and that he/she is not excluded from process, only that they will first evaluate applicants who have identified as indigenous or a person with disabilities. Members of the Executive commented that managers defer to HR for advice, assuming HR are experts in their field. This is an example that may not be the case.
  • Executive members who have examples are to write a summary of the issue, keeping member names anonymous. Andrea will consolidate and forward to Waheed Khan for bringing forward to the HRLMCC and the respective Branches LMCCs where the issues occurred.
  • Action: All Executive Members, Andrea to consolidate and forward to Waheed Khan

  • National PIPSC AGM update.
    • Andrea, Bill and Michael provided a short summary.
  • Branch AGM update
