Heart Award

For 2019, the Executive of the Prairie/Northwest Territories Region has instituted a new recognition award.  The intent is to recognize our hardworking volunteers in roles other than that of steward.  These champions are the heart of our regional organization.  Show your appreciation by nominating a volunteer whose service you value.  The selected individual will be honoured, with an award and gift, at our Prairie/Northwest Territories Regional Council.

Eligibility:

Volunteers who serve on executives; Branch or Regional and or committees; Branch, Regional and National (Prairie/NWT representative).

Nominations:

Nominations must come from members in good standing.  A completed nomination must include the following information for the volunteer nominated: full name of the individual as well as their contact information (email) and how they meet the Selection Criteria.

Selection Criteria:

  • Must be a member in good standing.
  • Must have served as an executive member on a branch or the region and/or a committee of the branch, region or national, for a minimum of five years.
  • Must have strived to improve the recognition of PIPSC publicly or in the workplace.
  • Engages with members in the workplace or engages with members at various events.
  • Volunteers to organize PIPSC events.
  • Participates fully when attending PIPSC events.
  • Other activities important to the membership.

A committee will be struck by the Regional Executive to review the nominations.  All nominations seriously considered will be entered into a random draw and one nominator will receive a gift.

An appropriate rating scale will be determined by the committee.

Nominations must be sent to Prashila Chand, Edmonton Regional Office, via email pchand@pipsc.ca, or fax no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2019.
