- A word from the Executive
- A word from the President
Renaud welcomes everyone. He shares his vision of the Executive. He asks the Executive to join the members in participating in the Branch’s activities. Renaud is going to delegate tasks that he usually carries out alone. However, the out-of-date membership list is a challenge. Once we’ve reached members, we’ll be able to set up our communication network and better plan our activities.

- Topics discussed
- A look back at the 2024 AGM of the Ville-Marie Branch: The Deli Planet restaurant was chosen for its proximity to everyone and its location at the Montreal Gare Centrale. However, the layout of the tables in one corner of the restaurant made it difficult for all guests to understand the speakers. The loud music heard in the restaurant made discussions difficult. For the 2025 AGM, we’ll have to find a better location. Member participation matched expectations. Someone suggested a community centre, in a church basement, with reasonable rental costs and located near the Beaudry metro station. All that remains is to hire a caterer and obtain a liquor license.
- Portfolio redistribution:
Communications: contact with members. Listening to our members. This is a big mandate. The SP model is suggested by Donald Lefebvre. We have 1,300 members. We must go through the PIPSC Communications division. They’ll be able to give us some serious help. We need to communicate with members to get more people participating in events. The Branch is facing up to the new reality of hybrid working, and when members are in the office, they can’t wait to get home in the evening. Donald Lefebvre is appointed Communications Manager. The latter will contact a colleague at PIPSC to assist him with a database. He can also call on the help of Subgroups linked to the Branch.
Engagement activities (social, cinema, apples in several suburbs): social activities at the beginning of which members are spoken to, e.g., a tasting, a film on Saturday morning, all according to the policy on constituent bodies ($50 maximum per member). The Branch can also partner with the Subgroups. An apple-picking event can be organized jointly on the North Shore and South Shore. Pascal Cloutier and François Pilon propose themselves.
Promotional material (ideas, limits): often linked to the AGM. Promotional items featuring the Branch or PIPSC. Distribution of existing promotional items. Approaching Quebec companies according to PIPSC rules for custom orders. Evangelia Costamis has been appointed to handle this item. Everyone can contribute their ideas to her.
Registration of Rand members: explanation given of the meaning of Rand and Randy members. Donald will contact Rand members to register.
2025 AGM Committee: Wendy Blouin, François Goulet and Isabelle Gagné.
- Other business/Roundtable
- Youth network. PIPSC Youth Committee members must be 40 years of age or younger. 35 years for the FTQ. From September 26 to 28, there will be an activity offered by the FTQ, and a limited number of places will be available for PIPSC members under 35.
