Following up on this year's call for nominations to join the Group Executive committee, which opened on January 26 for 4 weeks with a closing date of February 23, the Vice-President and Secretary positions, each for a 2-year term, are acclaimed.
In compliance with the BCFNHA Constitution and By-Laws, article 7.2.2, the election committee will reopen the call for nominations for an additional 2 weeks for the following positions, each 2-year terms:
- Treasurer
- Member-at-Large (3 positions)
Submit your nomination by March 25, 2024 using the form below. Please disconnect from the government's VPN and use a personal device in order to ensure the form loads.
Members are encouraged to participate in this union leadership opportunity.
The nomination and election process is governed by our Group by-laws, article 7.
Here is a summary of the process:
- Nominations must be supported by at least 2 group members
- The Elections Committee will review the nominations to make sure nominees are eligible
- If necessary, the Elections Committee will hold a vote
As a member of the group executive, your role is to:
- further the professional interests of the members
- protect the status and standards of our profession
- represent the views of the members on matters affecting them
- ensure that the interests of the Group are represented in all proceedings of the employer and of the union
This is a voluntary role with an approximate monthly commitment of 2 hours. The executive meets approximately 6 times per year.
