BC First Nations Health Authority Group

The 2024 elections to the group executive were conducted by the national elections committee at the request of the group. An initial four (4) weeks long nomination period resulted in only 1 nomination each for two (2) of the six (6) positions that were vacant.

We are finally bargaining! We know that members have been eagerly awaiting the start of bargaining and asking many questions about when we might get a renewed collective agreement. We appreciate your patience, and please know we are moving as quickly as possible.

NOTICE OF BCFNHA AGM BCFNHA Members are invited and encouraged to attend the BCFNHA PIPSC Group  Annual General meeting.  When:  Monday May 9, 2022 Time:  6:30pm - 830pm Pacific Time

Earlier we announced the results of our ratification vote and we are pleased to report that the new collective agreement has passed, with 58 % voting in favor of the adoption of the contract.

The bargaining team would like to announce that the tentative agreement has been approved and ratified by the membership. The FNHA has also informed PIPSC that they have ratified the tentative agreement as the employer. 

Your BCFNHA Group bargaining team would like to invite you to a follow up Q&A regarding the proposed changes to the collective agreement.

Please take the time to review all the documents in the package before voting. The bargaining team unanimously recommends the acceptance of this tentative agreement.

The BCFNHA Group bargaining team signed a tentative agreement with the First Nations Health Authority. This agreement must now be ratified by the BCFNHA Group membership.

The BCFNHA group executive is looking for members who would be interested in becoming part of the bargaining team for the next round of collective bargaining (contract negotiations) with the employer.

The union gives us an excellent opportunity to look after our jobs. We can be directly involved in negotiating work conditions that are fair and progressive. These conditions are written into a legally binding collective agreement. The union also gives us the opportunity to sit on committees that can promote better communication, mutual respect and understanding with management.

Our latest collective agreement includes establishing a remote nursing sub-committee. The purpose of the committee is to inquire into the circumstances that lead to concerns about administrative or operational inequities experienced by nurses in remote stations as compared to nurses working in other locations of the employer.
