This agreement must now be ratified by the BCFNHA membership.

Your PIPSC Bargaining Team is pleased to announce that on November 30, 2021 we finalized a tentative agreement with the First Nations Health Authority to conclude this round of collective bargaining.  We would like to thank all members for their support and patience during this unique round of bargaining. We believe we have reached the best deal possible in what has provided very challenging circumstances for negotiations.

We entered into the current round of bargaining against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, the toxic drug crisis and the anti-Indigenous racism in healthcare Your bargaining team was committed to bring back the best possible agreement under the circumstances, and after 12 solid months  of negotiations over the past year, we have reached an agreement that your committee unanimously recommends to the membership.

The hard work that has been done over the last year to serve communities has been recognized and some of the key points that we accomplished include:

  • A 6% wage increase over the life of the 3 year contract
  • Increased annual leave, and vacation parity between clinical and non-clinical members
  • beneficial solutions that brought clarity to concerns expressed by our members with probation, travel time and accrual of benefits
  • additional financial recognition for the nurses working tirelessly at point of care

Regular members in good standing will receive the voting instructions by email. Ensure your contact information is up to date so that you can participate in the vote.

We will follow up with the entire tentative agreement and provide members a chance to meet with us in virtual town hall meetings through the month of January,  with the vote on the contract happening in the late January to early February timeframe .

Happy Holidays from your PIPSC FNHA BC Bargaining Team
