The Administrative and Foreign Service Category and the Scientific and Professional Category (NFB) Bargaining Team is proud to announce that you have voted in favour of a new collective agreement by ratifying the July 17 tentative agreement!
The agreement brings significant improvements to the NFB collective agreement, refining benefits such as:
- pay
- parental leave
- caregiving leave
- domestic violence leave
- hours of work
- overtime and compensation for travelling time
Implementation
The NFB Bargaining Team expects to sign the collective agreement in August 2019. The agreement will come into effect on the day of signing.
PIPSC and the NFB recognize the flaws of the Phoenix pay system. This is why – for this round only – PIPSC agreed to extend the implementation timeline of the collective agreement to 180 days. In exchange, each SP member will receive $400. The most complex cases may require up to 560 days where manual intervention is required.
If employees do not receive their retro pay during the 180-day implementation period, they will receive $50 on day 181, a second $50 three months later and at the end of each 3-month period thereafter up to a maximum of $450.
Some parental leave benefits might also take 180 days to implement after signing.
You will find all the information about your new collective agreement in your Ratification Package.
Thank you
In solidarity,
Your Bargaining Team
