Our latest collective agreement expired on July 19, 2018.  The next bargaining team to champion our next contract was chosen over the summer.  The new bargaining team has met several times including receiving training, developing the bargaining survey, reviewing the survey results, and identifying priorities for the upcoming bargaining round.  The team continues to meet regularly in preparation for negotiations with the employer.  Bargaining dates have been scheduled with NRC for April 24-25, 2019 and June 26-28, 2019.

Although the federal election is approaching on October 21, 2019, the RO RCO bargaining team will make every effort to reach a fair deal for the members as quickly as possible.

A new approach to this round of bargaining is to have a number of common issues in which all Treasury Board groups are interested negotiated at a Central Table.  These negotiations are underway.  The separate agency representatives on the PIPSC bargaining team include Louis Poirier (NRC OCRE, Ottawa).  Information on the Central Table negotiations is found on the PIPSC website (https://www.pipsc.ca/labour-relations/collective-bargaining).  The common issues include: family leave, workplace harassment, Family Day, pay rules (Phoenix), duration of agreement and economic increase.

PIPSC has launched the DO BETTER campaign for members to show their support for all the groups during bargaining.  Please visit (https://action.pipsc.ca/dobetter) to join the campaign!

In Solidarity,
Your Bargaining Team
