Position: Quebec Regional Representative

Hello,

My name is Richard East and I am running for the position of Quebec Regional Representative.

I will be retiring on August 22, 2018 and I plan to get involved on behalf of our retired members.

During my working years, I served as President of the Rouyn-Noranda AFS-CRA Sub-Group for 22 years, President of the Abitibi-Témiscamingue Branch for 18 years, and member of the Quebec Regional Executive for 3 years.

I have been a Steward for the past 20 years and have been attending all the Quebec Regional Council for the last 18 years. I have also been a delegate to PIPSC National AGMs since 1997.

In addition, I served on some of PIPSC national committees such as the By-Laws and Policy Committee and the Elections Committee, and I was an evaluator for the Legacy Foundation scholarships for 8 years.

I plan to get involved in issues affecting retired members, e.g. Bill C-27, which is threatening our pensions, the Public Service Health Care Plan, and the indexation of the death benefit.

As you can see, I have been very active during my working years and will be equally involved during my retirement years if you choose me as your representative.
