CSC Pacific Subgroup Annual General Meeting

When: Thursday, April 11th at  7:00 pm

Where: Lou's Grill, Abbottsford

This is a notice of our upcoming CSC Pacific Health Services Subgroup AGM, where we will be meeting for several reasons:

  1. To elect new members of the SH CSC Pacific Subgroup Executive
  2. To provide a Bargaining Update for our Collective Agreement
  3. To hold a Q & A for any issues you may have

Please RSVP before April 4th to Mike Bouwers at fbouwers@pipsc.caif you plan to attend.

This is an excellent opportunity to get some information on your union activities and meet fellow health services members, even if you have never attended before.

All positions on the Subgroup Executive are up for election.  You are able to put your name forward as a candidate for a position and not be present at the meeting itself, however, you must be present in person at the meeting to vote for candidates (as per Bylaw 8.1.4 of the subgroup's constitution). A description of the roles and responsibilities of each position are as follows:

President The President shall call and preside at all meetings of the Sub-Group and of the Sub-Group Executive and shall present to the Annual General Meeting a report on Sub-Group activities. The Sub-Group President will also be invited to attend the annual SH Subgroup Presidents Meeting, that is almost always tied to the SH Group AGM.

Vice President The Vice-President shall assist the President in the performance of his duties and, in the absence of the President, perform the duties of that position.

Secretary The Secretary shall be responsible for sending notices of all meetings of the Sub-Group and of the Sub-Group Executive. The Secretary shall record minutes of meetings, including attendance, maintain records and correspondence of the Sub-Group and of the Sub-Group Executive and shall ensure that a copy of the minutes is filed with the Institute. The Secretary shall also be responsible for submitting reports as required by the relevant Institute and Group By-Laws and Constitutions.

Treasurer The Treasurer shall maintain the financial records of the Sub-Group as required by Institute policy, prepare a financial report for each meeting of the Sub-Group Executive and each General Meeting of the Sub-Group, submit a detailed financial statement to the Institute as required, and prepare the request for the annual allowance of the Sub-Group. Copies of the financial report shall be available to all Sub-Group members.

Members at Large Members at large shall perform such duties as may be assigned by the Executive.

Looking forward to seeing as many of our SH members as we can.
