The PIPSC Canada Energy Regulator (CER) Group Executive is looking for members to join the bargaining team for the next round of collective bargaining with the employer.
This is an opportunity to deepen your engagement with the union, actively participate in the negotiations process, and help improve the lives of your fellow members at the bargaining table.
All members are encouraged to apply for this leadership opportunity, especially if they’re from an equity-seeking group. The CER Group will consider the interests and perspectives members may bring and seek to have a bargaining team representative of its diversity.
How to apply:
If you wish to be a voice for the interests of your profession, please send your Expression of Interest (EOI) to Marie Ammais at mammais@pipsc.ca as soon as possible. Please include a brief description of why you are interested in joining the bargaining team. The deadline to send your EOI is June 9 2025 at 12 PM ET.
If your application is accepted, you’ll be notified following the CER Group Executive meeting in June.
Requirements:
This role requires a significant time commitment from team members.
Bargaining team members must:
- discuss their participation with their leader
- commit to the process by dedicating their time throughout the bargaining period
- be willing to make decisions by consensus whenever possible
- represent all CER members regardless of profession
- respect the confidentiality of the bargaining process
Timeline:
Preparation work is expected to begin in late 2025 and early 2026.
Additional team meetings will be held as needed in preparation for negotiations.
Active negotiations are anticipated to start in the fall of 2026 and continue throughout 2027. Negotiations will require approximately 3 to 4 days every 6 to 8 weeks, with occasional work after hours or weekends.
Overall, the bargaining team’s efforts could extend for 2 or more years.
