Report on my participation to CUPE 2019 Symposium
Every 2 years, the Canadian Union of Public Employee (CUPE) hold their National Convention. This year it was held from Saturday, October 5 to Friday, October 11, 2019.

I begin as always this 3rd status report with a note thanks and support to members, colleagues and staff of the Professional Institute. Things are going well as I transition back into the Executive Team.
In the period covered by this report, my work as part-time Vice-President has included the work identified in the mandate assigned to me by the President of PIPSC and/or by the membership via the By-laws and policies of the Institute.

Since March, there has been a new-found interest by Canadians in the Official Languages Act.

I begin this 2nd status report with a note of thanks and support to the members, colleagues and staff of the Professional Institute who assisted my transition back into the Executive Team.
It is worth noting that I will publish these reports every two months commensurate with my mandate and, in this way, I hope to keep you, the member, fully informed of the initiatives and issues which impact the membership at large and the organization as a corporation.

I begin this status report with a message of thanks and support to the many members who elected me with a strong mandate and such strong numbers after somewhat of a long period away. I fully appreciate the opportunity to publish these reports for the view of the membership and that these reports are mandated as part of the work of the all Executive positions. To me, these reports are completely necessary as part of a transparent and accountable organization and I look forward to publishing these on a regular basis.

The Institute is launching a new Public Service Recognition campaign called “Best in the World” and asks that the Canadian government continue to invest in its Public Service. We are also introducing new mobilization tools to support our campaigns.
