Lunch & Learn

 Dear Members

You are cordially invited to attend a Lunch and Learn session on

Phoenix; We deserve better

Date: Wednesday, July 25, 2018

Guest Speaker: Shelley Melanson,

Team Lead, Mobilization and Recruitment

Time: 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.

As the negotiations for the renewal of your collective agreements continue in to the fall (2018), your bargaining teams would like to clarify the issue of hours of work. Negotiations have happened around moving to a 40 hour work week. Though at this time this proposal has not yet been signed off. We are still discussing compensation for the 40 hours, format of the 40 hours, start times, and how to calculate accrual and use of leave (vacation, sick leave, etc).

*** Due to popular demand and Park limitations this event is now sold out ***

SUMMER FAMILY FUN!!!

It’s hot, it is summer Holidays, the Gatineau Branch in partnership with the National Capital Region is inviting you and your family to a summer fun family activity at Mont-Cascades.  Have fun and refresh yourself all day Sunday July 22nd at Mont-Cascades.  Enjoy the facilities, refreshments and hide from the sun under the big tent at your disposition all day.

I would like to take this moment and clarify a statement I wrote to you a few days ago in my President’s Message “AV Elections Results”, dated June 20, 2018.

PIPSC members with a gross annual income of less than $40,000 are eligible to apply for reimbursement of part of their union dues.

The 2017 AGM adopted a resolution that members who have paid more than 2% of their gross annual earnings will be eligible to apply for reimbursement of any dues paid above the 2% threshold.

Members who wish to claim the reimbursement are invited to send a request along with a copy of their 2018 T4 statement to membership@pipsc.ca
