The NCR Regional Council will be held on Friday, April 20 and Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Hilton Lac-Leamy in Gatineau QC.
The NCR Regional Council is the governing body for the NCR in PIPSC. It is where members-at-large in the NCR are elected, amendments to the NCR Constitution are passed and the NCR Budget is approved.

The Prairie/NWT Regional Training Committee is very pleased to announce the 2018 Regional Labour School, consisting of 3 full days of instruction. Our training event will take place in Edmonton, from May 10 to 12 at the Matrix Hotel. Stewards are asked to select either Module 1 or Module 2, which will run concurrently.

Despite much public controversy surrounding it over the past few months, Bill C-27, which would make it easier for employers to convert existing employee Defined Benefit (or DB) pension plans to so-called Target Benefit (or TB) plans, remains at the First Reading stage in Parliament. That means it could still become law if nothing is done to stop it.
While it does not currently affect any PIPSC member under the Public Service Superannuation Act (PSSA), C-27 does affect other PIPSC members and sets a dangerous precedent for all Canadians. If its proposed sweeping changes take effect in one regulatory area, a powerful trend will be set in motion and pressure will increase to make changes in others.
It’s time to get this flawed piece of legislation off Parliament’s books once and for all. You can help! It is easy by joining the Institute’s ongoing campaign against C-27 and emailing your Member of Parliament, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance to let them know you oppose this dangerous Bill. Together, we can ensure the retirement security of all Canadians.

Notice of AGM, call for delegate applications and proposed amendments to SP Group constitution and by-laws
The 2018 SP Annual General Meeting (AGM), your forum to provide direction to your Executive, will be held in the National Capital Region on Saturday, April 7th, 2018 at the Delta hotel, 101 Lyon street, Ottawa. In accordance with the group constitution, interested members are invited to apply to become voting delegates for the AGM. The Executive shall determine the selection of delegates.
